  1. 1.0

    Fit Shapes 1.0

The first public release of Fit Shapes, for iPhone. Log a meal from one photo, see your day against your targets, and let them adjust each week.

    Logging

    • Scan a meal: photograph a meal or a nutrition label, and Fit Shapes logs it. There is no review step. You can also scan a barcode, and the entry keeps a photo of the food.
    • Fix a meal in your own words: open a scanned or described meal, tap Fix, and say or type what is wrong. You see each change on the meal before you apply it. Add item works the same way: describe the food you missed.
    • Advanced logging: turn it on in Account to see each item after a photo logs, and adjust it.
    • Describe a meal: type or say what you ate, and check the estimate before you add it. Your words show as text while you speak, and speech stays on your iPhone.
    • Log a meal again: Add food shows your recent meals. Long-press a food or a meal on Today to log it again, move it to another day, or delete it.
    • Search for a food or a brand, and log it with the portion you choose. The plain food comes first, so “apple” finds an apple, not a pie.

    Today

    • Calories and macros against your targets, with every food you logged.
    • Fiber and sugar for the day. Tap the card to see your nutrition for the Day or the last 7 days, including vitamins and minerals, and search for any nutrient.
    • Tap the date to open a calendar of past days, each one a ring.
    • Your trend weight and your energy balance.

    Adaptive Targets

    • A weekly check-in compares what you logged with your weight trend, and proposes new calorie and macro targets when your pace drifts. You decide whether to accept them.
    • Mark days you only partly logged, and the check-in leaves them out.

    Reminders

    • An evening reminder if you logged nothing today, and a Monday reminder when your weekly check-in is ready. Weigh-in and meal reminders are optional. Each reminder comes only when there is something to do.

    Your data

    • Import your food log and weigh-ins from MacroFactor, Cronometer, Lose It!, Cal AI, or MyFitnessPal, or bring daily food totals in from Apple Health.
    • Export your history as one CSV file.
    • Apple Health: read weight, body fat, and active energy.

    Founding Membership

    • The first 1,000 members get a numbered Founding Member card.

Fix a meal in your own words

Tell Fit Shapes what is wrong with a meal, and see each change before you apply it. Plus import and export, reminders, and a calendar of your days.

    New

    • Fix: open a scanned or described meal, tap Fix, and say or type what is wrong. The changes show on the meal, and you choose Keep current or Apply changes. Add item works the same way: describe the food you missed.
    • Recent meals: Add food shows meals you logged recently. Log a whole meal again with one tap.
    • Long-press a food or a meal on Today to log it again, move it to another day, or delete it. A food’s detail screen also has Move to another day.
    • Import data: bring your history from MacroFactor, Cronometer, Lose It!, Cal AI, or MyFitnessPal, or daily food totals from Apple Health.
    • Export data: your history as one CSV file.
    • Calendar: tap the date on Today to see past days as rings.
    • Notifications: an evening reminder, a Monday check-in reminder, and optional weigh-in and meal reminders. Change them in Account.
    • Advanced logging: turn it on in Account to see each item after a photo logs, and adjust it.
    • Founding Membership: the first 1,000 members get a numbered card.

    Improved

    • Today shows fiber and sugar, your trend weight, and your energy balance. Tap the card for Nutrition, by Day or 7 days, with search.
    • Energy Balance draws what you ate as bars against what you burned.
    • Describe Food has a new composer. Your words show as text while you speak.
    • Search puts the plain food first.
    • A meal with several of one food logs the count, for example “2 × 1 burger”.
    • Barcode entries keep a photo of the food, and the scanner opens wider, on the .5x lens.
    • New buttons and fields across the app, and haptics when a scan finishes and when you save.

    Fixed

    • Screens that broke at the largest text size now fit.
    • The weekly check-in now comes every week, even after a gap in your logging.
    • A Describe Food entry without a photo no longer says its photo expired.
    • Imported meals and day totals no longer show up as food suggestions.

Logging that keeps up with you

Scans and descriptions keep going when you leave the app, and search holds still while you tap.

    Improved

    • Scan food and Describe food keep working when you leave the app. If one fails, the row in your log shows Retry.
    • Search results hold their place while you tap, so the food you tap is the food you get.
    • The footer of the food sheet stays above the keyboard.

    Fixed

    8 fixes
    • Deleting a food now closes the food sheet, instead of leaving you on search.
    • Decreasing a half serving no longer drops it to almost nothing.
    • Your weekly rate shows exactly as you chose it, and "1 pound per week" reads correctly.
    • A target weight in pounds is no longer rounded up twice.
    • A food you delete while Today refreshes no longer comes back.
    • Describe Food without a photo no longer asks you to retake a photo.
    • Energy Balance shows Retry when your history fails to load, instead of an empty message.
    • Tapping Continue twice in setup no longer skips a step.

    Describe a meal

Type or say what you ate, and Fit Shapes turns it into foods with calories and macros. You check the estimate before you add it.

    New

    • Describe food: write “two eggs scrambled in butter, one slice of sourdough”, or say it. Speech becomes text on your iPhone. Fit Shapes lists each food with its portion, calories, and macros.
    • Partly logged days: mark a day where food is missing, and the weekly check-in leaves that day’s total out.

    Improved

    • Quick Add is now part of Describe food. If you know the numbers, enter them yourself.
