Fit Shapes started on iPhone, but the intention was to make it available on all platforms. Now, the Android app is ready. However, before it reaches Google Play, I’d like to put it in the hands of a few people to help make sure we’re delivering a polished product.
If you have an Android phone and track what you eat, this is your invitation. The beta is free for testers.
What’s in it
The Android beta is the same app as the iPhone one. You can snap a meal and have it logged, say what you ate, scan a barcode or a nutrition label, or search for a food. Adaptive Targets watches what you eat and how your weight trends, and proposes new targets in a weekly check-in. Nutrient goals, reminders and export are all there.
Your history comes with you. Fit Shapes imports your food log and weigh-ins from MacroFactor, Cronometer, Lose It!, Cal AI and MyFitnessPal, and the import guide covers each app on Android. If you weigh in on a smart scale, connect Health Connect, where scale apps and Samsung Health save your weigh-ins, and Fit Shapes reads them from there.
There are some things to know. We have a few limitations on Android that we don’t have on iPhone. For example, we use your phone’s onboard speech recognition for voice logging and edits. Unfortunately, if you’ve got Android 12 or earlier, those features won’t be available.
How to join
- Tap Android beta below, or under Get the app at the top of the page, and enter the Google account on your Android phone. For most people, that’s their Gmail address.
- I’ll add you to the beta on Google Play and email you a link.
- On your phone, open the link, join the test, and install Fit Shapes from Google Play.
- Sign up in the app with the same email address.
Updates come through Google Play, like any other app.
I’m looking for your feedback
Android phones vary more than iPhones do, in screen sizes, keyboards and the settings people change. I want to hear what looks wrong on yours, what’s slow, and what you expected to find but didn’t. Reply to the email with the link, use Contact support in the app, or contact support from the site. I read every message.
Look forward to hearing from you!
