Import from another app

Bring your food log and weigh-ins from MacroFactor, Cronometer, Lose It!, Cal AI, MyFitnessPal, or Apple Health.

Your history gives Fit Shapes a head start: your expenditure starts from real data instead of an estimate.

  1. Open Account from your avatar at the top right of Today.
  2. Under Data & integrations, tap Import data.
  3. Choose the app you used, and follow its steps to export your data.
  4. Choose the file, check what will come across, and confirm the import.

MacroFactor

In MacroFactor, open More, then Data Export. Export two files and save both to Files:

  • On the Quick Export tab, choose All time, then Export. This is your summary (.xlsx).
  • On the Granular Export tab, turn on the food log, then Export. This is your food log (.csv).

Choose both files together. The food log brings every entry; the summary brings your weigh-ins and body fat.

Cronometer

Cronometer exports from its website, not from the app. On cronometer.com, sign in and open Settings, then Account. Under Export Data, choose All time, then export two files and save both to Files:

  • Daily Nutrition: your daily totals (dailysummary.csv).
  • Biometrics: your weigh-ins (biometrics.csv).

Choose both files together. Each day comes across as one entry, Daily total (Cronometer). If your Food & Recipe Entries export (servings.csv) shows calories, choose it too, and each food comes across on its own.

Lose It!

On loseit.com, sign in, then open loseit.com/export/data. Your export downloads as a .zip; save it to Files and choose it.

Lose It! does not record times, so each entry gets its meal’s usual time.

Cal AI

In Cal AI, open your profile and export your summary report. Cal AI sends a PDF by email; save it to Files and choose it.

MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal’s export needs a paid MyFitnessPal plan. In MyFitnessPal, tap your avatar, then Nutrition, then Export. MyFitnessPal sends a .zip by email; save it to Files and choose it.

MyFitnessPal exports meal totals, not individual foods, so each meal comes across as one entry. Exercise is not imported.

Apple Health

If your old app saved food to Apple Health, you can bring its daily totals without a file. Under Other ways in, tap Apple Health, then Read Apple Health, and allow access to food data. Choose the app, check what will come across, and confirm.

Each day comes in as one daily total. The individual foods stay in that app. Today is not imported.

What comes across

  • Food entries keep their dates, and get a meal from their time of day. They show as Imported.
  • Weigh-ins come across too. A weigh-in you already have in Fit Shapes wins.
  • A day you already logged in Fit Shapes is skipped, so nothing is counted twice. Importing the same file again is safe: it does not add anything twice.
  • If you import from two apps over the same days, the first import keeps those days.
  • Days you marked as partially logged in MacroFactor stay marked, so the weekly check-in leaves them out. Fasting days are not imported.
  • Goals and targets are not imported.

The app uploads the file to our server, which reads it and saves the entries. We do not keep the file. See the privacy policy.

If the file is too large

The limit is about 7 MB, or 20,000 food entries. Export a shorter date range and import it in parts.
