Read the Today screen
What the rings, bars, and numbers on Today show, and what ≥ means next to an amount.
Today shows one day: the food you logged, the calories you ate, and the calories you burned. To see a different day, tap a day in the week strip, or tap the date at the top.
The rings
The card at the top has two rings.
- The outer ring is the calories you ate. A full ring is your calorie target. If you eat more than your target, the ring continues in red.
- The inner ring is the calories you burned. A full ring is the amount that Fit Shapes expects you to burn in a day.
The middle of the rings shows your calories and your target, for example 1,536 and / 2,100.
Consumed and Remaining
On the current day, tap the middle of the rings to switch between Consumed and Remaining.
- Consumed shows what you ate.
- Remaining shows what is left of your target. If you are over your target, the number is red and shows how much you are over.
The protein, fat, and carbs rows switch too. Past days always show Consumed.
Protein, fat, and carbs
Each row shows grams and your target, for example 62 / 150 g.
- In Consumed, the bar fills from the left as you eat.
- In Remaining, the first number is the grams left, and the bar gets shorter as you eat.
- If you are over your target, the first number is red. The bar is full, with a thin line at your target and red after it.
Eaten and burned
Under the rings, eaten is the calories you logged, and burned is the calories you used.
Burned is your resting energy plus your active energy. Fit Shapes calculates your resting energy from your weight, height, age, and sex, and adds it through the day. Your active energy comes from Apple Health or Health Connect.
If Fit Shapes has no weight for you, or cannot read your health data, the inner ring and burned do not show. If you do not give access to active energy, burned shows your resting energy only.
Fiber and sugar
Next to eaten and burned, Today shows the grams of fiber and sugar that you ate. They have no target here. To see your fiber goal, open Nutrition.
When an amount shows ≥
Some foods have no fiber or sugar value. For example, the data for a barcode product can have no fiber.
If a food on that day has no value, the amount shows ≥. For example, ≥9 g fiber means at least 9 g: the foods that have a value add up to 9 g, and the real amount can be more. VoiceOver reads “at least 9 grams”.
Fiber and sugar each show their own ≥. If all foods on that day have a value, there is no ≥.
Open Nutrition
Tap the card anywhere except the middle of the rings. Nutrition opens on that day, with all of your nutrients.
